What is happening with engagement sessions for City projects?
All public engagement events have been cancelled.
"Recognizing that COVID-19 represents an unpredictable and unique scenario, the City has made the decision to cancel all upcoming Public Engagement events," reads the City of Edmonton's public engagement page. The City formally announced the cancellation of public engagement events on March 13.
Two final public engagement sessions for the Jasper Avenue New Vision project were cancelled, but construction is going ahead as planned. “We have engaged with the public several times in the past about this project and they will have a chance to see the information online that would have been shared in the previously scheduled info session,” city spokesman Paul Hanlon said in an email to Postmedia.
Some online surveys that were already in progress, such as the Public Washroom Survey, remain open. No new surveys have been published to the Edmonton Insight Community, the City's online portal for public engagement.
