As of June 12, Alberta entered Stage 2 of its relaunch strategy. Stage 2 allows additional businesses and services to reopen and resume operations with physical distancing requirements and other public health guidelines in place.
Businesses offering personal services such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, piercing, and tattoos are among those permitted to open.
Some tattoo shops in the city have opened with new safety measures implemented.
“Bring a mask (we have them if you don’t) and a good attitude which focuses on keeping yourself and others safe,” wrote Crimson Empire Tattoo on their Facebook page June 15.
Eye Of The Lotus has insisted that all customers bring a mask or purchase one at their studio and arrive solo to increase physical distancing measures.
Currently, most shops are working strictly on an appointment-only basis with an expected long waitlist as they work to reschedule cancelled appointments.
